Our Fleet

Currently we have three vessels, Jester, Aeolus and Anne, but are also working with other skippers who will be paired with students to get more sail time and become sail-able.

Jester

Jester

  • Manufactured by Peter Legnos Boatbuilders 1974
  • Fiberglass hull
  • Fiberglass/wood deck
  • Large cockpit with tiller steering
  • Diesel inboard engine

She is a one of a kind with Honduras Mahogany interior, teak wood exterior and cockpit. She is designed and named after the Jester Challenge  which is a transatlantic solo race. With a displacement of 6000 lbs she handles Lake Michigan well and is very stable. This past season all woodwork was refinished, new electrical, mast and shives repaired and much more in preparation for the 2023 season and to bring sailing to others.

Aeolus

Aeolus

Aeolus (Hull # 389) is a Tartan 34C. The letter "C" has been adopted by the boat market, "classic", identifying it as the first 34 from Tartan. She is a 34.42ft masthead sloop designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built in fiberglass by Tartan Marine between 1968 and 1978.

The Tartan 34 c is a heavy sailboat and is a reasonably good racing and cruising performer. She is best suited as a coastal cruiser which makes her perfect for Lake Michigan

Anne

Anne

Anne is a 3.1m handbill tender with a gaff rigging. She is a smaller boat with lots of character. We are looking to rehome her and move up to a bigger boat.
